The Savegre River, one of the most pristine rivers in the country and surrounded by lush vegetation and meandering waters, features class II and III rapids that are perfect for beginner rafters.
A highly experienced guide will take you along this amazing trip, stopping along the way for great swimming spots and cascading Waterfalls. When floating in calmer waters, don't forget to search the rainforest for its beautiful wild inhabitants and commonly seen birds such as egrets, osprey, toucans, parrots and much more.
Towards the end of the trip, the group will stop and have lunch at the little village of "Silencio' before enjoying a comfortable drive back to Manuel Antonio.
Journey begins with a 4x4 ride into the “wilds” of Costa Rica’s tropical jungle with breathtaking scenery of more remote areas of the Savegre.
The local village, “Silencio,” is a little local village of thatched roof dwellings where you will enjoy a typical Tico breakfast.
Put in your lunch order and begin to meander through the African Palm Plantations before heading off to the winding mountains to start the rafting leg of your journey.
Guides stop at locally known swimming spots and breathtaking waterfalls if the rafters want a break from paddling, and there is always time to enjoy the abundant variety of wildlife along the river. On most trips, rafters will observe egrets, osprey, toucans, parrots, kingfishers, cormorants, and many other species local to this protected area of the primary tropical rain forest.
Wind your way back to the little village of “Silencio” where a hot “Tico Style” lunch and local refreshments are waiting.
After lunch, leisurely trip back to your Manuel Antonio hotel.
